Visual  Index

The Visual Index is a photographic record of attention, proximity, and use. It documents people, objects, and environments as they are encountered—quietly, without interruption, and without emphasis.

Images within the Index are selected for stillness, clarity, and longevity. They show moments of reading, standing, waiting, and inhabiting space. There is no sense of preparation or activity underway. What appears is what already exists.

The Visual Index supports editorial, archival, and institutional contexts by remaining neutral, legible, and consistent over time.

About

Corinna Brown is a documentation-led researcher and visual practitioner whose work focuses on how people encounter institutions, objects, and environments over time. Her practice centers on careful observation, presence, and continuity rather than production, commentary, or display.

The work presented here is not conceptual development or process documentation. It reflects moments that are already complete, already in use, and already settled.
